Anthony is an exercise physiologist and a Teaching Consultant at the Institute of Human Performance. Recent courses taught on the Exercise and Health degree programme are Exercise Physiology, Physiology for Human Movement and Kinetic Anatomy. He has previously taught at Nottingham Trent University, the University of Melbourne, Victoria University and on coach education programmes in Australia and Hong Kong. Anthony has research interests in the areas of training and performance in elite athletes, physical activity measurement and health-related physical activity. He is a co-investigator on a National Institute of Health funded project lead by Professor Tom Baranowski from Baylor College of Medicine which is investigating maintenance of active video game play in children. He has held research positions at the Cancer Prevention Research Centre, University of Queensland and the Children’s Nutrition Research Centre, Baylor College of Medicine. Additionally, he has managed a large scale physical activity programme at the University of New South Wales and worked for commercial organizations providing exercise consultation. Anthony also played basketball at international level for Australia and is an Olympian.
