- Research Grants 		I arrived at The University of Hong Kong in August 1994, fresh from my PhD at the University of Exeter with Professor Neil Armstrong. The intention was to stay for one year, but fourteen years have passed and Hong Kong continues to be one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in the world. My research has focused on the exercise responses and physical activity of children. Recent projects are concerned with developing a detailed knowledge of the key components of physical activity that protect against metabolic disease in children, and the development of novel physical activity strategies for the prevention and treatment of metabolic and cardiovascular dysfunction.
